Cloud computing exploded since 2010, it will continue to rise. For years, companies around the world have been migrating their IT Infrastructure/ operations to the famous cloud data center. Digital data are stored within a remote data center & services are accessed via the internet across the globe scalable by the click of a button. Data is encrypted and replicated without investing massive capital into IT infra.
The pandemic and the rise of remote work have accelerated the trend.
Now you have the choice to spend hundreds of hours reviewing hundreds of cloud companies and invest in a few of them. Few of my favorite individual cloud companies are Amazon, Microsoft, Salesforce, Adobe, Veeva Systems, Google Cloud, The Trade Desk, DigitalOcean, VMware Inc, Kingsoft Cloud Holdings, Atlassian Corporation, Service Now, etc. But there is always a headache (cost) to keep track of individual companies & it does not matter how good they are!
If you do not want that hassle, you can invest in a few great-performing Cloud funds/ETFs (think of them as a collection of stocks) which are actively being managed by fund experts. New potential cloud companies will be added and matured ones are sold actively.
Personally, I have invested in the following funds 2 years ago & have got a 23% steady growth (compare above cloud companies stocks) even though the market has crashed quite recently and brought these funds/ETF at an attractive price for fresh investors. If it crashed further I would like to top up the following funds/ETF for my retirement.
